On a recent visit to the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC I purchased a souvenir tote bag with a quote from Henri Matisse:  Creativity Takes Courage".  Artists know this to be true.  We share our vision and our inner spirit through our art.  It takes courage for us to create and then share our art with you.  That sharing also gives us great rewards.

I am blessed to live on the South shore of Lake Superior, an area of great natural beauty.  Painting with transparent watercolors or pastels my challenge is to capture the awesome beauty of the North Country whether the smallest of wild flowers or the grandeur of the waves and shoreline of the Big Lake.
